You already have internal coaches or you are an internal coach.   It is an amazing position to be in. You have the opportunity to really get to know an organisation, to fundamentally affect positive shifts in the culture, to individually and collectively help your colleagues where they struggle and where they want to grow.

There’s also a challenging side, as there is for all coaches. Coaching relies on confidentiality, non-blurring of view-points, complete impartiality and an integrated grounded approach. Internal coaches are at a greater risk in some respects than external coaches simply because they work with the people they have coached, are coaching or will coach in the future.

Strong, compassionate, skilful and challenging mentoring and supervision can significantly diminish this risk. Ginny has mentored coaches for years. Contact her on 01873 890554 to find out what she brings to your team of coaches and how it can support them to be of greater use to your people.

This is also applicable to those working in any people support capacity, whether formally an internal coach or not.
Ginny's initial coach training was two years with CoachU in the US. Subsequently she joined the faculty and spent the next 5 years training new coaches as a tutor and a certified mentor coach.

As an MCC, she evaluates coaches looking for accreditation and has herself been recently assessed by the NHS to join their panel of 25 executive coaches from a pool of 1,100 interested parties.
