It’s getting the support you want when you need it. It’s being able to contact your coach for that just in time interaction. It might be using unorthodox methods to shake up the results you want. It’s quickly bedding in the true committed partnership between coach and client and making more happen together than ever would individually. It’s using all the technology available to us to grow the bond, performance and impact. It’s nimble and quick where it needs to be. And it’s understanding that the coaching is the start of the journey, not the end result, performance must continue long after the coach has left the building.
And actually sometimes it is about having a coach who will tell you how it is, a directness and a truth that might be very important.
It can also be about closing the loop with your organisation, making sure you’re not hived off into some uber-performance silo with your coach and no-one else.
Methodology can involve a kick-off intensive session, mixing up face to face and virtual work, shadowing meetings, assessing impact, clarity of the path, weekly development focus framework (busy people jettison development focus the moment business comes under pressure, not here they don’t, it keeps going), and whatever else we decide is going to move you to where you want to be. Everything we do is relevant to the outcomes, even if it might look a bit weird at the time.
The critical measure of the coaching is not the session, but the performance, the impact, the tangibility of results.
